 A notary public is a trained and authorized official who acts as a witness to the signing of important documents. Their role is to verify the identity of the individuals involved in the transaction, ensure their willingness to sign, and confirm that the document is authentic and legally binding. 

 To get a document notarized, you will need to bring the document itself, a valid form of identification (e.g., driver's license, passport), and any other relevant paperwork. It is a good idea to call ahead and confirm what specific documents and identification are required.   Ensure your document does not need a witness.  If it does you will need a witness, if you are unable to provide a witness, I can assist with providing one for you.

 No, notarization is not the same as providing legal advice or acting as a legal representative. A notary's role is to witness and authenticate document signings, not to offer legal counsel.
